She was on her lunch break at a shopping center off Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa, and she had maybe 45 minutes before she had to be back inside.
She'd already called the Toyota dealer that morning. They told her Scion key programming was dealer-only, quoted her a wait of several days for an appointment, and left her standing in a parking lot with one key that was starting to act up and no backup. I registered the new key's transponder to the immobilizer on site, cut the blade to her vehicle, and ran through the full check: start the car, confirm the immobilizer accepted it, test every button on both the original and the new fob.
She was back inside before her break was over. Dealer was still waiting on a callback.
