Then came the longer part of the job: because there were zero working keys left, the immobilizer enrollment had to go through the OBD port to register the new key. That process has a timed sequence built in, so you don't rush it. Once the chip was enrolled, I synced the remote functions and tested every button, then tested the start twice to confirm the immobilizer was happy.

He was back in the car inside of an hour. No drilling, cylinder intact, everything working the way it left the factory.
