2019 Volkswagen Golf Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A woman in San Ysidro Village picked up a used 2019 Volkswagen Golf through a private sale. Clean car, good price, one key. The seller kept saying the second fob was around somewhere. It never showed up.
She called the Volkswagen dealer first. The quote they gave her was not a surprise to me, but it was a surprise to her. On top of that, they told her the fob had to be ordered and she would be waiting days before they could even schedule the programming appointment. She had just bought the car. She needed to get to work.
She found me online and sent a message that night. I told her what the job actually involves on this car and what she would need to have ready, mainly just the car and the one working key she had.
I met her in San Ysidro the next morning. She sat in the driver seat while I worked off the hood. I matched the correct flip key blank to her vehicle, cut the blade on site, then read the PIN through the OBD port using her existing key. Once I had that, I precoded the transponder chip in the new fob and adapted it to the car. The whole process ran under an hour.
She tested every button herself before I packed up. Lock, unlock, trunk release, all four functions. The new fob performed the same as the original. She drove off with two working keys and paid a fraction of the dealer quote. The dealer was barely an afterthought by the time we were done.
