2004 Honda Pilot Transponder key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

People lose all their Honda keys more often than you'd think. The most common scenario isn't dramatic. They just never got a second key. They bought the car used with one key, always meant to get a spare, and three years later that one key finally gives out.

A newlywed couple at their street parking spot in Montecito had exactly that story. Their only key to their 2004 Honda Pilot cracked at the blade pivot and snapped clean off when they tried to open the door. The remote head was in one hand and the blade was stuck in the lock. That saved time because I didn't need to run a full all-keys-lost procedure. I extracted the broken blade fragment from the door lock, decoded the lock, and cut two fresh keys. Their fob, FCC ID , was a -button remote head key that I rebuilt into a new shell with the cloned chip inside. I showed them the chip from the cracked key so they could see it was still good, and explained why having two keys would save them money next time.

They went from zero working keys to two in about 40 minutes. Total was around 98. A full all-keys-lost without the broken pieces would have cost more, and the dealer wanted 216 either way. The chip data inside a cracked fob is often perfectly fine and salvageable, which makes the job faster and cheaper.
