Got a call around 11 PM from a guy over in San Jose Creek in Goleta. He worked overnight security and his 2013 Pilot was sitting in the townhouse garage with zero working keys. The single remote head key he had just stopped doing anything. No remote response, no start, nothing. On the second-gen Pilot, the immobilizer relearn goes through the car's IMMO unit on the gauge cluster board, and once the old key data is cleared, new ID46 transponder registration is quick. Cut the HO01 blade to his locks, programmed the KR55WK49308, and tested all four buttons plus the ignition cycle.
The part that seemed to get him was the time. He thought this was going to be a multi-day ordeal involving a flatbed and a dealer service appointment. Instead it was done in his garage before his shift started. He just stood there watching the dash lights cycle through like he was waiting for it to fail again.
Dealer would have meant a tow plus days waiting for an appointment. This was one visit, late night, on site, for way less.
