Out past Coal Oil Point Reserve in Goleta, a photographer had a 2014 Pilot sitting in a canyon overlook lot with zero keys. Push-to-start, no physical key slot, and the car just sat there like a very expensive paperweight. He had hiked back to the main road to get a signal because his phone was useless out there.

I drove out to the overlook. AKL on these second-gen immobilizer Pilots means pulling the IMMO data from the 38 chip on the body control module as a backup, then running the full reset through OBD with my ACDP. The old fob data gets wiped so whatever keys are floating around out there are dead to the car. Then I programmed a new KR55WK49308 proximity fob, all four buttons, and tested start, lock, unlock, and hatch.
The whole thing took about 40 minutes on a gravel pullout with no cell service and no dealer within 30 miles.
He kept looking at the dash after it started, like the car might change its mind. It did not. He drove home. The dealer route would have meant a flatbed tow first and a much bigger bill second.
