Met a family at their Airbnb rental near Bart's Books. Their 2022 Pilot wouldn't start after a beach day, and they were convinced the salt air killed their smart key.

I checked the basics first. The KR5V44 fob was fine. Remote start worked, doors locked and unlocked, the car just wouldn't crank. Classic symptom of the brake pedal position sensor issue that Honda documented in TSB 17-069. The immobilizer was reading the key perfectly.
Quick test: brake lights weren't coming on. The switch had failed internally, so the car's computer didn't know the brake was pressed. No brake signal means no start on push-button vehicles. I bypassed the switch temporarily to verify, then installed a new one from my van stock.
Twenty minutes later they were headed back to the beach. The dealer would have sold them a new smart key for nothing. Sometimes the expensive part isn't broken.
