Parked on a side street near Cathedral Oaks, a 2016 Pilot, one fob, battery already swapped twice in the last year. The owner had done everything right on the surface.
He'd put a fresh CR2032 in, seated it correctly, and the car still gave him a key-not-detected warning on the dash whenever it felt like it. Not every time. Everything came up clean. Erased the old fob from the system while we were at it, so it couldn't cause confusion later.
He'd already called the dealer. They wanted him to tow it in because they said they couldn't confirm diagnosis over the phone. I did the whole job in his driveway. He mentioned the dealer quote on his way back inside. I just told him to call if anything felt off.
