Upper Village in Montecito is the kind of neighborhood where people park on quiet residential streets and don't think twice about it. That's exactly where I found a couple standing next to their 2004 Pilot, looking at two pieces of what used to be one key.

They'd bought the car used a few years back. One key, always just one key, and the plan to get a spare never quite happened.
