Got a call from a guy along the Calle Real corridor in Goleta. He had been fishing most of the morning and somewhere between the water and the parking lot, his only key to a 2012 Honda Pilot just vanished. Gone. He retraced his steps twice, checked every pocket, even asked around. Nothing.

Then I plugged into his OBD port, ran the all-keys-lost procedure to wipe the old ID46 transponder from the immobilizer, and registered the new KR55WK49308 as primary. Turned the key. Fired right up on the first try.
While I was there, I cut and programmed a spare so he wouldn't be one lost key away from the same situation again. Whole thing took about 45 minutes.
He just stood there holding both keys like he was weighing them. Then he said something I hear a lot: "I didn't even know this was an option."
He drove home from that same lot with two working keys, same day, for a fraction of what the dealer plus a tow would have run him.
