That's where this one happened. A woman had parked her 2016 Buick LaCrosse and come back to a key that wouldn't do anything. Lock button, unlock button, nothing. Blade turned in the ignition fine, car ran, but the remote functions were completely dead. She'd already swapped the battery herself, CR2032, new one from a drugstore. Still nothing.
