A weekend car tinkerer at the independent shop lot in Santee had been fighting his 2002 Buick Regal ignition for weeks. He had to jiggle the key just right to get it to turn. The dealer quoted $200 for a new ignition assembly, new key, and programming.
I checked his ignition and the problem was worn wafers, not a dead cylinder. So I used my B111 Lishi to decode the lock, cleaned and replaced the worn wafers, and cut a fresh key matched to the repaired cylinder. His remote, FCC ID L2C0007T, paired back up cleanly. I showed him the old wafers so he could see the buildup.
His total was $95. The ignition turns smooth again, and he didn't replace a part that wasn't broken.
