2017 Buick Regal Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
In Rancho Del Oro, the houses back up to each other in a way where everyone shares the same narrow alley for parking. That is where I found her, standing next to her 2017 Buick Regal, holding a fob that looked like it had been through a washing machine and then run over once for good measure.
She had bought the car used, third owner. The first owner kept the second key, the way they always do. The second owner never thought to get a spare made. So she ended up with one key, and that one key had a cracked shell, a loose blade pivot, and a battery door that was being held shut by a strip of electrical tape. She had been driving like that for months because the dealer quoted her a number that made her put the phone down.
The chip inside the original fob was still reading fine. That was the first thing I checked, because everything else about that fob was done. I pulled the data I needed, cut two fresh key blades to her vehicle, built two new fobs, and programmed both of them in the alley with the sun coming through the gap between the houses.
I handed her both keys and showed her how to test each button before I packed up. She tested them probably four times each, which is exactly right.
She went from one piece of electrical tape holding her key together to two working fobs in about 40 minutes. The dealer comparison came up exactly once, when she said what they had quoted her. I just nodded. The math speaks for itself.
