2004 Cadillac Seville
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2004 Cadillac Seville Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

He had just gotten cleared by the cardiologist and was walking back to the parking lot in Shadowridge when his 2004 Cadillac Seville wouldn't start. He put the key in, turned it, engine cranked, fired up for half a second, then died. He tried again. Same thing. He wasn't locked out, the key turned fine, but the car just wouldn't stay running.

It was late afternoon and he had prescriptions to fill before the pharmacy closed.

He called me and described it. That immediate-stall pattern on a crank is almost always the immobilizer rejecting the key, not a fuel or ignition problem. I told him that before I even left.

I got there, confirmed it with a quick scan, and the transponder chip in his key had given up. The key blade was fine. The chip was the problem. I cut a new key blade to match his vehicle and programmed the replacement transponder to his Seville's immobilizer on the spot.

Engine started and stayed running. He made it to the pharmacy with time to spare. The dealer would have had him waiting until the next morning, minimum. For someone walking out of a cardiology appointment who needs medication before bed, overnight isn't an option.
