He landed after a red-eye, walked to the airport economy lot, and his 1999 Honda Passport wouldn't respond to the key fob. The CR2032 battery in the remote was dead. The car was locked, the emergency blade was inside his bag in the trunk, and the trunk wouldn't pop without the remote. He was stuck at the airport with luggage and no way into his own car.

His MECHANICAL-KEY with FCC ID was back working after a CR2032 swap and a quick reprogram to clear the fault code. He seemed pretty relieved when I told him the fix was that simple.
He drove home that same morning. Total was about $95. The dealer would have been $200 plus $175 in towing and a Thursday appointment. He skipped all of that and was home before lunch.
