2001 Honda Passport Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a rideshare driver parked near a coin laundry off Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa. He had a 2001 Honda Passport and no working key.
He'd already been burned once by one of those $49 Google ad locksmiths who showed up, talked about chips and programming, and charged him a number that made no sense for what the car actually needed. The key they cut barely worked, and he was still stuck.
He found me through Google Guaranteed and the first thing he asked was how he could verify I was legitimate before spending another dollar. I gave him my BSIS license number right there on the phone. He pulled up the state website while we were still talking and confirmed it himself. That's exactly what he should have done.
When I got to him, the diagnosis took about ninety seconds. This Passport uses a plain mechanical key. No transponder. No immobilizer. No fob. The previous locksmith had been running procedures on a car that didn't need them, which is how you rack up a bill while delivering half a result. I decoded the lock, cut a fresh key on site, and it turned the ignition clean on the first try.
He paid what I quoted. That was it.
