On some of these systems, there is a timed sequence built into the procedure, so the job takes longer than a standard spare key.

Start with the battery in the fob. If it is more than a year old or a no-name brand, replace it with a quality CR1632 and retest. If touch unlock comes back, you're done. If one handle works and the other doesn't, that's a door-side issue: the handle sensor or wiring on that door. That's not a key job, that's a vehicle electrical job. If neither handle works but the start button is fine, the fob battery is the first suspect before anything else gets blamed.
