1999 Lexus SC Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from someone out in the Live Oak Park Area of Fallbrook. The 1999 Lexus SC had been sitting for a few weeks, came back from a short trip, and the fob had gone quiet. Doors would not respond. He was using the blade to get in manually, which works, but it is not how anyone wants to live.
When I pulled up, the first thing I did was pop the fob and check the CR1616. It was the original cell. Not dead, but weak enough that the remote signal was gone. Swapped the battery, seated it correctly, and the lock and unlock came right back. He clicked it twice just to make sure it was real.
But he also mentioned the car had stumbled a little on the last cold start, so I checked that the transponder side was reading cleanly through the ignition. It was. Engine started clean, held idle, no stall. Both sides of the system were good.
The whole call took less than thirty minutes and he did not have to tow anything to a dealer or sit in a waiting room. He had found me through my YouTube channel and already had a feel for how the job goes before I arrived. That part always makes things easier.
Dealer comparison was not even part of the conversation. He just wanted it working by lunch, and it was.
