2007 Lexus SC Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy in Bancroft, in Spring Valley, around 10 at night. He was parked in an underground garage and his only key was gone. Not in his pocket, not in the elevator, not at the spot where he'd eaten dinner. Gone.
He didn't know his VIN off the top of his head, didn't have registration in his wallet, and was already thinking about a tow. He was pretty wound up. I told him to look at the base of the windshield on the driver's side. He found the VIN, read it out to me, and I told him to stay put.
With the VIN I knew exactly what I was rolling with before I left: the 2007 SC takes a remote head key, three buttons, CR1616 cell, blade cut to the vehicle. I had everything prepped before I got to him. Under those parking garage lights I cut the blade, assembled the fob, and used my programmer to enroll the new key to his immobilizer. First try, the car read the transponder, the engine came up, and the lock and unlock buttons worked clean.
He'd been ready to call a tow to get the car somewhere safe and then wait on the dealer. Dealer was closed that night anyway. He drove home instead.
The VIN is the thing. If you're in a situation like that, text it to me before I head out. It means I show up with the right key already pulled, not a guess.
