2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call near Bay Marina from a guy at a casual Mitsubishi meetup. He already had a bad experience behind him.
He'd found one of those "$29 service call" ads, and the guy who showed up spent the better part of an hour, couldn't complete the job, and still walked away with a significant chunk of cash. The key never worked. Now he wanted to know, before I even drove over, how to tell the difference between a real operator and someone running a bait-and-switch out of a white sedan.
I gave him my BSIS license number right there on the phone. He pulled it up on the state site while we were still talking. That's exactly what you should do. Once he was satisfied, I told him what I'd need to fix the situation: the right diagnostic equipment to communicate with the vehicle security system on his 2021 Eclipse Cross, a properly matched replacement fob, and a clean programming sequence that would register the new key and wipe whatever the previous guy had left in a half-finished state.
I showed up, connected, and walked through the full process. New fob registered, all three buttons confirmed working, engine started clean. I tested it several times before I packed up, including the door handles, because that's where you find out if the registration actually took.
He paid exactly what I quoted him on the phone. The dealer comparison came up at the end, almost as an aside. He'd already called them before finding me, and they were going to cost him considerably more, plus a wait. He just nodded when I mentioned it, like it confirmed something he already knew.
