2006 Scion TC Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
If you're reading this because you have zero keys for your 2006 Scion TC and need help right now, here's what to do. First, find your VIN. It's on the lower driver's side of the windshield, also on your registration and insurance card. Second, have your ID ready. Third, know where the car is and whether you can stay with it. Then call me.
A customer called from a mall garage in Rancho Santa Fe right as the mall was closing. His only key was gone. He'd checked his pockets, checked the stores, retraced his steps twice. Nothing. Security was asking him to leave and he had no way to move the car. He was pretty panicked.
I walked him through it on the phone. I told him to look through the windshield at the base of the glass on the driver's side, and he found the VIN. I told him his insurance app probably had his registration, and it did. With the VIN I knew his key type and had the right blank prepped before leaving. I used my VVDI Key Tool to generate a fresh transponder matched to his immobilizer. His key, FCC ID MOZB41TG, was a basic transponder blade that I built and programmed under the garage lights while security waited. He calmed down a lot once I told him I was on my way.
He drove out before they locked the gates. Total was $185. Dealer would have charged $395 plus a tow, and they were closed anyway. The VIN is the single most useful piece of information you can give me. Text it before I arrive.
