I got a text from a guy in Kearny Mesa who'd been hiking a trail outside San Diego. He came back to the trailhead pullout and his only fob was gone. Somewhere on the trail. The tC just sat there, locked, and the nearest dealer was nowhere close to being useful on a Saturday afternoon.
He found a patch of signal and texted me his GPS pin. I loaded up for a tC all-keys-lost call and drove out to meet him.

I set up at the front of the tC. All-keys-lost on this system means the immobilizer needs a full reset before it will accept any new key, so that's where I started. I backed up the immobilizer data, ran the reset, then built and programmed a new fob from scratch on site. Cut the emergency blade to match the lock. Tested every function before I called it done.
He drove out of that dirt pullout the same morning he thought the car was stuck there until Monday. The dealer comparison barely came up. He already knew.
