I got a call one Sunday morning from a server who works a brunch spot near Ramona Highlands. She'd already been through it once with another locksmith, and she was not happy to be calling again.

The car fires up because it recognizes something, then the security system catches the incomplete registration and kills fuel delivery. Two-second stall. Every time.
I verified the mechanical cut first to rule that out. Then I connected through the OBD port, cleared the incomplete key data from the previous attempt, and ran a clean immobilizer learn from scratch with the correct timing. When it finished, I confirmed the fob registration was written permanently, not just sitting in a buffer. Then I walked every function: door handle touch unlock on both sides, lock, unlock, the hatch release, start. She watched the confirmation on my screen. I showed her specifically what "fully learned" looks like versus what the previous attempt left behind.
Car started clean. No two-second cutoff. No hesitation.
She'd already paid someone else for a job that wasn't done. I couldn't fix that part. But I could make sure she left with a key that actually worked, done right the first time out here in Ramona.
