2014 Acura TSX Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in San Pasqual Valley, a guy running a food truck at the Escondido farmers market flagged me down between the lunch crowd thinning out and the afternoon slowdown.
He had a 2014 Acura TSX and one working key. He wanted a spare made before his luck ran out. He'd already called the dealer and was told he'd need a weekday appointment, and the quote he got back made him set the phone down and think about it for a few days. A friend told him to try a mobile locksmith instead.
He was half-expecting me to tell him I couldn't do it, that the Acura immobilizer was dealer-only territory. That's the reputation these things have picked up from old forum threads that haven't aged well.
I pulled up next to his truck, cut the new key blade to match his ignition, and went through the OBD port to register the new flip key to the immobilizer. The whole sequence on a 2014 TSX with an existing working key is clean and predictable. No drama, no timed countdowns, no proprietary wall to climb.
I tested every button, confirmed the transponder was recognized on the first crank, and handed it over while he was still restocking napkins. He paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted, and the car never left the parking lot.
The immobilizer doesn't know or care where the programming happened. The handshake is identical either way.
