Out in Lomas Santa Fe, Solana Beach, there's a stretch near the sailing club where the parking lot salt air is real. A guy there had been living with an Audi A4 fob that worked maybe half the time. He'd stand next to the car pressing the lock button four or five times before it caught. Wrote it off as a battery thing. Swapped the CR2032 himself. It helped for about a week.

The immobilizer was fine, car started every time, so we weren't doing a full all-keys-lost job. Just a remote resync through the OBD port, verify all four buttons, lock and unlock tested from across the lot, then range walked out toward the dock.
