That said, when a properly programmed Audi key stops working shortly after the job, the car is usually the place to look, not the key. A dead or disconnected 12-volt battery can cause the vehicle security system to drop enrolled keys from memory entirely, even keys that were working fine. Audi owners on the forums report this happening after a battery swap or a jump start where the voltage dropped too low during the procedure. The fob is fine; the car just forgot it. We diagnose what actually happened rather than automatically cutting a new key and calling it done.
