Because I could read the existing chip data rather than starting from scratch, the job stayed cleaner and faster than a full all-keys-lost situation.
She went from zero working keys to two in about 40 minutes. The dealer quote she had gotten by phone was significantly more. I kept reminding myself not to forget the obvious: test every button and cycle the door locks before calling it done, because a rebuilt flip key with a freshly seated CR2032 can look perfect and still have a board contact issue if you rush the reassembly.
If your flip key cracked and you still have both pieces, hang onto all of it. The electronics inside a broken housing are often perfectly good and that matters for how the job gets done.
