Early morning in Poway, Garden Road Area, a spin instructor walked out to her 2005 Audi A8 in a parking lot and tried to fold the key blade back into the shell. Because that electronics board was intact, I was able to work from what was already registered to the car rather than starting from scratch with a full all-keys-lost reset. I rebuilt the fob into a new shell, cut a fresh replacement blade to her vehicle, and got everything coded and tested on site.
Start to finish, about 40 minutes. She drove away with two working keys instead of zero.
