I did it under the parking lot lights, ran every button, verified remote start wasn't being confused for a fault, walked the door locks and the trunk release, and made sure the fob was reading clean from a normal pocket distance before I called it done.
She drove home that night. The dealer was closed and would have needed a tow on top of everything else. That part barely came up. The job was the job.
