2017 Ford Transit Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A guy running a small delivery route out of Downtown El Cajon called me on a Tuesday morning. His 2017 Transit was his whole operation -- he was loading up near the El Cajon Transit Center area when he realized his only key fob had stopped unlocking the doors. Engine still started, but the remote was completely unresponsive.

He'd already tried squeezing the buttons harder. Classic move.

I met him in the lot. First thing I did was pop the back of the fob and check the CR2032. It read low on the meter, just barely enough voltage to turn the car over through the ignition but not enough left for the remote signal. Swapped the cell, tested all four buttons, range came back, problem solved in about ten minutes.

That's it. But here's the thing -- if that battery had died completely, he would've had one of those mornings where the van won't respond and panic sets in fast.
