2003 Honda Element Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a woman in Fletcher Hills, El Cajon, who runs a small mobile nail business out of her 2003 Element. She'd been using the car as a rolling supply closet for years and had managed to get down to one key. That one key had a cracked head, held together with a rubber band and what I can only describe as optimism.
She found me because the dealer told her to come in, leave the car, and come back the next day. She had appointments that afternoon.
She texted me the VIN before I left. I already knew what blank I needed. When I pulled up to her place on the Fletcher Hills side of El Cajon, she handed me the cracked key and I could see the chip was still intact inside the broken head. That was the good news.
I read the chip from her original, cut a new key blade to match her vehicle, transferred the transponder data to the new blank, and tested it in the ignition. Cranked right up, no stall, no warning light. I handed her two good keys and she asked if I wanted a tip.
The dealer would have had her car overnight and charged her a good chunk more for the trouble. She had appointments to get to. That's the whole point of a mobile service.
