A guy there had a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and a fob that had been acting up for a while. The lock button worked maybe half the time. The trunk release had stopped responding completely. He had already swapped the CR2032 battery himself, which was the right first move, but the behavior stayed the same after the fresh battery.

That pointed to a worn button pad on that specific contact, not a battery issue and not a programming issue. He needed a replacement fob with the correct factory FCC ID already on the label, cut to his key blade profile, and programmed to the car.
I programmed the new fob on site. Tested range from across the driveway, walked every button, and did three clean start cycles to confirm the transponder side was still reading correctly. Total time at his car was under 30 minutes.
He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a wait of a few days just to order the part. He had not even asked about labor yet. This was done in his driveway the same morning he called.
