I was already running calls in West Santee on a Friday when a guy flagged me down, practically, through a phone call from a parking lot off Mast Boulevard. His 2007 Eclipse had been sitting there for two hours. He had the key, the car would turn over, fire for half a second, then die. He thought it was electrical. I cut a replacement key blade to his vehicle using the original as a reference, transferred nothing from the old damaged key, programmed the new transponder chip to his immobilizer on site with my equipment, and tested it three times back to back.
Third start he just sat there for a second with the engine running, nodded, and said "that's all it was." Yeah. That's all it was.
He had already been quoted a tow plus a dealer appointment two days out. He drove home that night. I was parked and done in under an hour.
