A home daycare operator at her bungalow near Nestor had a 2012 Nissan 370z with a cracked key shell. The rubber buttons were wearing through and the plastic had split near the blade. I swapped the working electronics from her cracked shell into a fresh housing, verified every button, and cut a new blade from the lock decode. The aftermarket shells I use have the same button layout and snap fit as factory.
She paid about $247 for the full job. Her cracked key was her only one, so having it rebuilt plus a spare means she has a backup now.
