Out in Eucalyptus Hills, I got a call from a woman running a home daycare out of her bungalow. She drove a 2016 370z, and the key fob shell had given up. The plastic had split near where the blade slots in, and the rubber on the buttons had worn through to the point where two of them were barely making contact anymore.

Verified the lock, unlock, and trunk buttons. Decoded the blade from the lock cylinder and cut a new one to match. Then the boring part that matters: confirmed the push-button start recognized the fob from the driver's seat, from the passenger seat, and from outside the vehicle.
The whole job took about twenty minutes. She saved a good chunk compared to the dealer route, and she didn't lose a fob that was otherwise working just fine.
