I lost all my Nissan keys. Can you still make a new one?

Yes. All-keys-lost is one of the most common calls we get, and we handle it on site for most Nissan models. The process involves reading the BCM code, generating a PIN through the NATS system, erasing old key data, cutting a new key, and programming everything fresh. Nissan owners who call the dealer for an AKL job are told to tow the vehicle in and can face quotes of $400 to $600 or more. Not for most Nissan models. A mobile locksmith with the right tools and credentials can handle all-keys-lost right where the vehicle sits. Nissan dealers default to telling you to tow because they need the car in their bay to connect CONSULT. A 2007 Maxima owner was told flat out: "You will need to have the car towed to the dealer and get a key made." A 2015 Rogue owner was told to tow the car 1,500 km. We come to you. How long does an all-keys-lost replacement take?

On site, most Nissan AKL jobs take 30 to 45 minutes. The BCM code needs to be read, the NATS system reset, and new keys registered from scratch. On older Nissans with chip keys, a locksmith may need to remove and read the IMMO module EEPROM to pull the code, which adds a few minutes. One 2009 Altima owner reported a mobile locksmith completing an AKL job in about 10 minutes including cutting and programming. At the dealer, the same work can stretch to a full day or more because of scheduling, parts availability, and CONSULT workflow delays.

What battery does the 2018 Nissan 370z key fob use?

The 2018 Nissan 370z uses a CR2032 battery. When we do an all-keys-lost job, the new key always comes with a fresh battery installed. You will not need to worry about battery life on your new key for a long time. Nissan fobs are known for faster battery drain than other brands, so we also recommend keeping a spare battery at home. A dead fob on a Nissan Intelligent Key system can trigger "Key Not Detected" errors even though the car is fine.

Can you make a spare at the same time so I have two keys?

Yes, and we strongly recommend it. When we program new keys to your Nissan, the NATS system erases all previously registered keys and relearns them in a single session. That means adding a second key while we are already connected costs less than calling us back for a separate visit later. All keys must be present during the registration process, so this is the ideal time to do it. If you just went through all-keys-lost, the last thing you want is to be in that situation again. Get the spare now while it is cheap.
