A guy down in Bay Marina in National City called me on a Saturday afternoon. He had a 2020 Nissan 370Z, two-seater, parked near the water, and his Intelligent Key fob had stopped being recognized. Push the start button and the car just sat there. Dash warning, nothing turning over.

He'd used a flathead screwdriver to pry the fob open and the battery contact had a slight outward bend on it, just enough that the CR2032 wasn't making solid contact. Straightened the clip, reseated the battery properly, closed the fob up correctly.
Then I walked through the full fob function. Door handles, start button recognition, lock, unlock, the mechanical blade to confirm the door cylinder would still accept it as a backup. Everything responded the way it should.
He didn't need a new fob. He didn't need a tow. He definitely didn't need to leave his 370Z at a dealer lot over a weekend. Just a contact issue and someone willing to drive to him and actually look at it. He saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer visit alone would have cost him before any real work even started.
