Add it up and owners consistently report one to two hours at the dealership even with an appointment. Some have waited longer. A few things worth checking first: clean the handle area, make sure nothing is coating the sensor surface, and retest. If it's still inconsistent and isolated to one handle, the fob is probably fine and the diagnosis moves to the door hardware. If both handles are acting up and the range on the fob has also shortened, that's when I'd start with a fresh CR1632 and clean contacts before assuming anything bigger.
