Berry Park in Imperial Beach, early on a Tuesday. A woman had been trying to reach her Volvo dealer since the previous afternoon and was already quoted a significant wait just for parts to be ordered. Her 2006 S60 wasn't starting, and the dash was showing a key warning she hadn't seen before.

On these mid-2000s Volvos, the body electronics module handles both the immobilizer handshake and the remote functions, and that module gets moody when the main battery is weak or has been recently jumped incorrectly.
