2009 Acura RDX Remote flip key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
This one was along the Patterson Road corridor in Oxnard. 2009 Acura RDX, first generation, keyed ignition. No push button here. Just the classic Honda style remote flip key, FCC ID N5F0602A1A.
He told me the remote still locked and unlocked the doors, but the car would crank and not start. Green key icon flashing. That is immobilizer.
I popped open his original key. CR1616 battery was fine. The remote board was alive. The problem was the transponder side. These use a Philips ID46 chip embedded in the head. If that chip cracks or separates from the antenna coil in the ignition cylinder, the car will spin all day and never fire.
I cut and programmed a new key, part family 35111 series that cross references under several Acura numbers for this FCC ID. Immobilizer registration through the OBD port, cycle each key, wait for the system to accept it. Then I did the boring checks. Lock, unlock, hatch, panic. Start it three times. No blinking green key.
He had already called the dealer. They told him it would need to be ordered by VIN and kept for programming. I handled it curbside and got him back to work the same afternoon.
