Had a call to Del Sol Park in Oxnard last week. Guy's 2021 RDX was throwing "Keyless Access System Problem" every time he tried to start it.
His KR580399900 fob looked fine from the outside. Chrome Acura badge, all five buttons intact. But when I popped it open, the CR2032 was reading 2.4 volts. Just low enough to kill the remote functions while the ID47 chip still worked at close range.
Here's what caught my eye: corrosion on the negative battery contact. Common on these Continental boards stamped A2C80399900. The moisture gets in through the seam where the panic button sits. I cleaned the contacts with isopropyl, installed a fresh CR2032, and resealed the housing with a thin bead of silicone.
Started right up. No more warning messages. Remote functions worked from 50 feet away again. The whole thing took maybe 15 minutes in his driveway.
He mentioned the dealer wanted to order a new key and do a full programming session. Would have taken three days for the part alone. We got it sorted same day for way less than they quoted.
