Do you need to tow your 2013 Chrysler 300 to the dealer? Probably not. For most Chrysler models from the mid-2000s through the late 2010s, I handle all-keys-lost right at the car.
An overnight shift nurse in Thousand Oaks had her only FOBIK die at home late at night. Her 300 was sitting in the cul-de-sac with a push-to-start system and no fob the car would recognize. She assumed a tow was the only option and had already started planning her week around not having a car. I told her to stay home and that I'd come to her.
I connected my Smart Pro to the OBD port and ran the Chrysler smart key AKL procedure, which clears the old key data and learns new fobs to the car's immobilizer. Her smart key, FCC ID M3N-40821302, was a 5-button proximity fob that I programmed in her cul-de-sac at 11:30pm. She seemed pretty surprised the whole thing could happen that late at night.
Her total was 95. The dealer would have been 200 plus the tow. There are a small number of very new Chrysler platforms with secure gateways where my tools don't have AKL coverage yet, and those do need the dealer. But for the vast majority of Chryslers on the road, 2005 through about 2022, I do all-keys-lost on-site every week. If your model is one of the rare exceptions, I'll tell you straight up instead of wasting your time.
