The whole job took maybe 35 minutes.
He got quiet once the engine turned over. Then he just sat there for a second with his hands on the wheel like he was making sure it was real.
He drove home that night. No tow, no waiting until morning for a dealer to open, no second trip to pick the car up. The VIN is the single most useful piece of information you can give me when you call. It tells me the key type, the immobilizer generation, and what I need to bring before I leave.
