Got a call one evening from a woman near Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks. Her 2017 Jaguar XE had one working smart key, and she had just watched it bounce off wet pavement and crack open on the hinge side. The CR2032 popped out, the battery contacts bent inward, and the fob shell split along the seam. She tried holding it together and pressing start. Nothing. Just "Smart Key Not Found" staring back at her from the instrument cluster.

I decoded her door lock with my HU101 Lishi, cut a fresh blade on my machine, and paired a new fob to her KVM through the OBD port. The whole procedure ran maybe 30 minutes, most of that being the programming handshake between my JLR-compatible tool and the KVM.
She stood next to me for the door walk, watching me test each handle sensor, the tailgate button, and the start/stop cycle twice. When the engine turned over clean, she just exhaled and said she had been mentally rearranging her entire week.
