Worn remote-head keys on older Mazdas are one of the calls where the dealer wants to sell you a completely new key when all you need is a new housing. The 2005 through 2012 Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-7, and CX-9 remote-head keys are notorious for cracked shells, soft rubber buttons, and loose blade pivots.
