A guy in West Simi Valley called me on a Tuesday morning. He was standing in his duplex driveway, fob in hand, showing me the damage over the phone before I even got there. Then I walked every function. Lock, unlock, the other two buttons, and push-to-start from inside the cabin. Everything confirmed. He held it in his hand and clicked it a few times like he was testing whether it would change its mind. It didn't.
He paid a fraction of what the dealer wanted. For a cracked shell and a battery.
