I was working the Upper East side of Santa Barbara on a Tuesday when a call came in from a woman who had been staying near Micheltorena Street for a few weeks. Her 2009 Rabbit key had stopped unlocking the doors remotely, and then that morning the blade snapped at the pivot point inside the flip housing. Not bent, actually snapped. The broken blade was the thing that threw her. She thought a snapped key meant some complicated recovery job. It didn't. It just meant I needed to bring the right blank and the right tools, which I already had.
