If that does not bring it back, the transmitter board inside the fob may have failed. These are old units and the electronics do age. The good news is that the transponder chip handles the start independently of the remote, so a dead transmitter board does not leave you stranded, it just means you are manually locking and unlocking until the remote side gets sorted.
