2012 Audi A6 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
In the Richland neighborhood of San Marcos, an office manager at a dermatology practice had texted me the VIN before I left my previous job. She needed a spare key for her 2012 Audi A6 and she had done everything right on her end: VIN in the text, her ID ready, and the original working fob sitting on the reception desk when I walked in.
Because she already had a working key, this was a clean add-a-key situation. No lock decoding, no all-keys-lost reset. I had the correct blank prepped in the van on the drive over.
I cut the replacement key blade to her vehicle, then connected to the diagnostic port and ran the immobilizer enrollment through my programming equipment. The A6 accepted the new fob on the first registration attempt. I walked every function before I handed it to her: lock, unlock, the remaining buttons, and door handle response on both sides. Everything worked.
She mentioned she had called the dealer first. They told her to leave the car, book an appointment, and plan on a wait. She did not want to leave her car anywhere for a day over a spare key. That is a fair call, and it is exactly the kind of job I can do on site in a parking lot in under half an hour. She saved a solid chunk compared to what the dealer quoted and did not lose the car for a day.
