2000 Audi A6 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Otay Mesa, near the Brown Field Area, I got a call close to 11pm from a woman who worked graveyard shifts at a pharmacy. Her 2000 Audi A6 was sitting in her condo garage and she had one key to her name. That key had stopped doing anything.
She had already tried a new CR2032. Doors still wouldn't respond, and when she managed to get inside and try to start it, the engine would catch and cut off almost immediately. She thought she needed a tow, and she had started pricing out dealer appointments and rental cars for the week.
I told her to stay put.
I drove out and connected to the OBD port with my key programming equipment. On a 2000 A6, you are working with an earlier generation of Audi's immobilizer system, which is actually more accessible than people assume. I read the security data, cleared the old key registration, and programmed her replacement remote flip key to both the immobilizer and the remote receiver. Then I cut the blade to her ignition and tested every function: lock, unlock, the trunk release button, and a confirmed start with no stall.
The whole job happened in her garage. She was back to a working car before midnight.
She had quoted herself over five hundred dollars factoring in the tow and dealer fees. She paid a fraction of that and never left her building.
